Week 5 of New Jersey Golden Gloves did not disappoint, Kelly takes home boxer of night

BY: Richard Quiñones (Journeymen Boxing) Week five of the New Jersey Golden Gloves were some of the best boxing the famed amateur tournament has seen in years, and there were some upsets mixed in as well Saturday night at Saint Andrews School in Bayonne, New Jersey.
Saleem Kelly (Middletown PAL) not only scored the TKO of the night, but he took home “Outstanding Boxer of the Night” award for his nasty third-round stoppage over Angelo Thompson (Elite Heat BC) at 1:42 of their 152-pound open contest.
“Best fights I have seen in years,” NJ Golden Gloves President Dan Doyle said Monday.
