Quigley against an inactive Hall will decide Virginia State welterweight title

BY: Richard Quiñones (Journeymen Boxing) Gerome Quigley will take on Richard Hall in a slated six-round affair that will decide the vacant Virginia State welterweight title, at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, Virginia Saturday night.

Quigley (6-0, 5ko’s), who turned pro in 2013, is fresh off a second-round TKO win over Norman Allen in early January. The 31-year-old native of Montgomery Village, Maryland has some knockout power, but has not really been tested in his career and on paper it appears that Hall will be no different.

Hall (10-22-3, 6ko’s) has dropped four of six and the 40-year-old from North Carolina has not tasted a win since 2004 and this will be the first time he has stepped into the ring since 2009 when he drew a six-round against Bayan Jargal.

Going back to 2005, Hall has lost nine of 11.

However, he has fought unbeaten boxers every time during that span, including Derek Ennis, Mike Jones and Jargal over that stretch.
