Quattrocchi retains West Virginia State title; Himes scores win in rematch against Capers

Richard Quiñones (Journeymen Boxing) – Aaron Quattrocchi retained his West Virginia State title when Shawn Laughery could not continue during their title affair Saturday night at the Mountaineer Casino Ballroom in New Cumberland, West Virginia.

Quattrocchi (9-0-1, 4ko’s) continued the impressive start of his career, winning his fourth straight overall, while a game Laughery fell to 7-3.

In other action, Josh “The Handsome Hitman” Himes  scored an unanimous six-round decision in his rematch against Lamont Capers

Himes’ is only setback of his career came against Capers in a high contested contest that was decided by a very controversial knockdown/slip counted against Himes in the second round, which ended up being the deciding point in his 38-37 setback.

However, in this one he simply outworked Capers throughout the night, connecting with sound body shots throughout.

He improved to 8-1 with 4ko’s, while Capers has dropped five of eight and saw his record slide to 5-8-2.
