Richard Quiñones (Journeymen Boxing) The New Jersey Golden Gloves squad touched down in Las Vegas and got off to a good start as the National Golden Gloves tournament got underway Monday night. Shakur Stevenson, a hot rising amateur at 123lbs. got the boys from Jersey going with a win, in impressive style. Aadam Ali, who is a talented 141lb fighter, took a very close split-decision loss, which according to several reports could have gone either way.

Edgar Flores dropped another hard-luck bout in a 165lb affair, while heavyweight Mike Hilton dominated his opponent with an unanimous decision win.
