New Jersey’s Bauza makes quick work of Erosa in PR


Richard Quiñones (Journeymen Boxing) North Bergan, New Jersey boxer and 2016 USA Youth Welterweight champion John “El Terrible” Bauza won his second pro fight after stopping John Erosa Saturday night in Catano, Puerto Rico.

Bauza (2-0, 2ko’s) jumped on Erosa from the start mixing in body shots and combos in the first round. He cleared rattled Erosa (0-8) and worked him over in the second round before the action was halted at :50 of the second stanza.

Prior to turning pro, Bauza was the No.1-ranked youth amateur boxer in the nation at 141 pounds, amassing a staggering 170-8 amateur record before inking an exclusive co-promotional agreements with Roc Nations Sports and Miguel Cotto Promotions.

Bauza fought at 140lbs and plans on going down to 135 pound to box at the lower weight in the future.
