Richard Quiñones (Journeymen Boxing) Ivette Delgado captured the 112lb class title of the New York Daily News Golden Gloves tourney when she defeated Gabriella Gulfin Wednesday night at Yonkers Raceway in New York.

Delgado (Atlas Cops N’ Kids) easily handled the overwhelmed Gulfin (Class One MMA), 3-0, by landing a ton of clean crisp shots throughout their bout.

“I had a lot of high expectations for the night,” said Delgado as she earned her third Gloves title.

The Yonkers product was excited that she had such a great turnout come out and see her win.

“A lot of people came out tonight to see me fight and I wanted to do well,” added Delgado.

Brittany Delgado (Impact Boxing MMA) earned her second Golden Gloves title by ousting Neena Ajwani (Mendez BC), 3-0, in a spirited 106-pound clash.

“I had everything planned out,” said Delgado, the 2011 champ added after the win. “I knew they wanted to wrestle, but I kept it tight. I’m happy.”

In a great contest, Nyisha Goodluck (Atlas Cops N’ Kids) earned her first pair of Golden Gloves as she defeated Trudy Li (Green Fitness), 2-1, in a very entertaining 125-pound contest.

“First year, first time,” an elated Goodluck said. “Feeling great and blessed.”

In the bout of the evening, Chayanne Rivera (Mendez BC) was left with tears streaming down his face when his hands were raised after his emotional win over Andy Dominguez, also of Mendez BC, in the unanimous win in the 114-pound open class.

“I’m very emotional,” said the three-time Golden Gloves winner, who showed a ton of class and respect for his friend after his 3-0 triumph.

“Dominguez is my little brother. Instead of being happy, I was crushed, because I know how hard he trained. We trained together.”

It was another outstanding tournament for Nisa Rodriguez (NYAC) and Krystal Dixon (Champs BC). Now a 7-time champion, Rodriguez beat Macarena Soto (Atlas Cops N Kids) with a first-round TKO (1:46) in the 152-pound class.

In the 176-pound class, Dixon, who became a four-time champ, defeated a tough Daniela Huerfano (Eastern Queens BC), 3-0.

The final pair went to Patrick Aristhene (Freeport PAL), who defeated Tyriece Stokes unanimously in their 178-pound bout. T

The next Golden Gloves championship fights take place on April 18 at Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York.
