BY: Richard Quiñones (Journeymen Boxing) Heather “The Heat” Hardy puts on her undefeated record on line when she takes on Renata Domsodi in a scheduled 12-round affair that will decide the WBC International female super bantamweight title Saturday night at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Hardy (12-0, 2ko’s) will be on the undercard of the Andy Lee/Peter Quillin middleweight bout and the Danny Garcia/Lamont Peterson main event.
As of Friday’s weigh-in, Lee came in at 159.6 pounds, while Quillin came in at 161.4 and could only get down to 160.6lbs. 90 minutes later.
The 33-year-old Hardy is currently the second-ranked female super bantamweight in the U.S. and she is also No. 8 in the WIBA rankings. This will be the second defense of her title as she defeated Crystal Hoy last October to claim the belt.
She had several tough bouts since then, as she won a very controversial split-decision affair against veteran Jackie Trivilino last June.
Domsodi (12-6, 5ko’s) has dropped two straight and three of four. The 40-year-old native of Budapest, Hungary is coming off a very close and tough fight against Eva Voraberge for the WIBA/WBF super flyweight title in early November and has been knocked out four times over her career.
