BY: Richard Quiñones (Journeymen Boxing) Jennifer Han will take on Helen “Iron Lady” Joseph in a scheduled 10-round contest for the vacant IBF World female featherweight title Saturday April 18th at the County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas.
Han (11-3-1, 1ko) is coming off an impressive win over Christina Ruiz last June, which was a UBF female bantamweight title eliminator bout. The 31-year-old has won three of five, but lost a four-round split decision to a very inexperienced Claudia Gutierrez back in 2012 and looked shaky in that fight.
Joseph is a very tough boxer inside the ring, but has been very inactive over the last several years. She is not ranked and that is due to the fact she has not fought in almost two years.
Her last time out in the ring was in 2013 but it was a very impressive first-round KO win over Marianna Gulyas for the then vacant IBF Inter-Continental female featherweight title in Ghana.
She turned pro in 2004 and racked up 10 wins in a row before suffering her first pro setback.
