Veteran Fernando David Saucedo will take on Leandro Mendes Pinto in a 10-round scheduled main event that will decide the WBC Latino lightweight title Friday at the Club Social y Deportivo Nahuel, Florencio Varela, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Saucedo (53-6-3, 8ko’s) is the top-ranked super featherweight from Argentina and is fresh off a win against Sergio Mauricio Gill in December. Prior to that he dropped a 12-round unanimous decision to Rances Barthelemy for the IBF World super featherweight title at Foxwoods Resort in Connecticut in October of 2014.

Saucedo, 33, is a crafty boxer, but does not possess much power behind his punches as evident of his eight knockouts in his career.

However, he might have some openings against Mednes Pinto, who has suffered five losses in his career – two via knockout – and the last coming in his last bout when he suffered a second-round TKO against Bradley Skeete in London back in September.

Mednes Pinto (16-5-2, 7ko’s) will have quick turnaround after this fight as he is tentatively scheduled to take on Claudinei Lacerda in April in Brazil. Mednes Pinto has dropped two of his last three bouts and three of six.
