Fury stuns Cunningham

Tyson Fury stunned Steve Cunningham with a vicious right hand that floored the veteran Saturday afternoon in front of packed house at the Theater in Madison Square Garden.

Cunningham floored Fury in the second round with a huge right, which clearly rattled the young and outspoken native of the UK. Fury was showboating prior to the knocked down and his antics clearly pumped up Cunningham.

However, Fury, who was making his debut on American soil, showed some serious grit and poise and was able to chop down Cunningham as the fight progressed before the devastating blow in the seventh.

It was just Cunningham’s third bout as a heavyweight and afterwards he really seemed like he had no words to describe the defeat. Although, he was not happy with Fury using his left forearm to position himself for the deciding blow.

“Well, it was illegal but what can you do,” a dazed Cunningham said afterwards. Cunningham fought a gritty fight and showed a ton of heart and courage and he showed it.

Cunningham suffered the sixth loss of his career (25-6), while Fury remained unbeaten (21-0) and will now move into the Top 5 in the heavyweight division
