Richard Quiñones (Journeymen Boxing) – Siblings and super middleweights Anthony and Andre Dirrell will highlight a stacked card Friday night at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Anthony Dirrell (28-1-1, 22ko’s) will face Caleb Truax (26-2-2, 16ko’s) over 10 rounds, while his brother Andre (24-2, 16ko’s) will battle Blake Caparello (22-1-1, 6ko’s) in a 10-round affair.
Jonathan Guzman will battle Daniel Rosas for the IBF junior featherweight eliminator slated for 12 rounds. Guzman (20-0, 20ko’s). Since his no contest against Luis Hinojosa in 2014, Guzman has reeled off eight straight and has yet to suffer a defeat.
Rosas (20-2-1, 12ko’s) has won three straight since losing an unanimous decision against Alejandro Hernandez for the interim WBO World bantamweight title in 2014.
In heavyweight action, Brendon Barrett (3-0-2, 3ko’s) will face Alando Pugh (1-7-1) over four rounds, while Atlantic City’s Anthony “Juice” Young (11-2, 5ko’s) faces off against Juan Rodriguez (6-4-1, 5ko’s) in a six-round welterweight clash.
Rodriguez has dropped two straight and four of six, while Young will look to rebound after he suffered a TKO loss to Skender Halil in February.
In other action, Eddie Ramirez will meet Osumanu Akaba over eight rounds in a junior welterweight clash, while Hafiz Montgomery takes on Darnell Pierce in a four-round cruiserweight bout.
Gritty Victor Vasquez out of Philly, faces Antonio McGruder in a four-round junior welterweight bout, and Chris Thomas and Jessie Singletary meet over four rounds in a middleweight fight. Abraham Nova faces Weusi Johnson, 4 rounds, junior welterweights, while Titus Williams steps up to meet DeWayne Wisdon, 6 rounds, junior welterweights.
Rounding out the card, Luther Smith vs. Solomon Maye, 6 rounds, cruiserweights and Chordale Booker vs. Tolutomi Agunbiade, 4 rounds, junior middleweights.
