Anthony Caputo Smith can turn heads this evening when he tangles against Dhafir Smith for the PA State Light Heavyweight title at Harrah’s Chester, PA.
Caputo Smith is 13-1 and will look to rebound from the first setback of his career. He got knocked out in the second round against hard hitting Kevin Engel at Dover Downs back in August, and a win tonight could jump start his career. His 13-1 record is impressive, but the reality is he has not really fought tough opponents and when he did he got floored. Dhafir Smith is a veteran in the ring and his 26-23-7 record is not indication of his talent in the ring. He has fought some tough boxers like WBC Super Middleweight champ Andre Ward and Jeff Lacey. He has fast hands and good feet and likes to throw a ton of punches.
For Caputo Smith this is the fight that could help him got other fights on bigger cards. Caputo Smith is a smart fighter and he picks and chooses his moments in the ring.
I think you will see Caputo Smith throw caution to the wind tonight and try to knock out his older opponent and make a name for himself in PA, as he has already done in Delaware.
